TGIF!! With another hectic workweek in the books, it’s time to talk to our fine smuggler from the Nine, Xur! His loadout this week feature exotics from the first two expansions of Destiny 2 (Curse of Osiris and Warmind). Xur has been lackluster as of late on the exotics and perks but we have TWO enhanced perks on gear this week! So let’s dive in and take a look at the goods!
This week, Friday 7/26/19, Xur can be found on Earth in his usual spot in the Winding Cove up on the cliff edge. If you are chasing completion on an exotic badge, don’t forget to pick up his fated engram which will guarantee one exotic you don’t already have!
For the Hunters
Hunters, you can get Wormhusk Crown, the exotic helmet. Its exotic perk is Burning Souls, which after dodging will give you a small bump of health and shields. This week’s rolls come with Heavy Lifting, Enhanced Ashes to Assets (gives greater super energy for grenade kills), and Machine gun Targeting. The second row of perks includes Sword Reserves and Machine Gun Reserves. Even though this exotic has seen better days before it got hit with the nerf bat it is still a good perk that will help in a pinch if you run a low Resilience build as a Hunter. I am excited to try out the Enhanced Perk on this helmet as I love to throw grenades in PVE and PVP.
For the Titans
Titans, you can get Armamentarium, an exotic chest armor. Its exotic perk is And Another Thing which grants you an additional grenade charge. This week’s rolls come with Unflinching Rifle Aim, Unflinching Large Arms, and Enhanced Unflinching Bow Aim (greatly reduces the amount of flinch while aiming down sights). The second row of perks includes Bow Reserves and Hand Cannon Reserves. “You should be throwing grenades as I am telling you this”- Shaxx. This exotic is used in both PvP and PvE and is useful especially if you love to run Pulse ‘or Suppression ‘nades (Fun Police build). I will say I am not as excited about the enhanced perk on this armor piece as when I use a bow I don’t feel the flinch as hard as I would on a sniper. It’s a handy exotic and if you don’t have it pick it up and give it a whirl.
For the Warlocks
Warlocks, you can get the Vesper of Radius, the exotic chest armor. Its exotic perk is Planetary Torrent which releases an Arc Shockwave when casting a rift. Also, the rift energy regenerates faster with more enemies are nearby. This week’s rolls come with Unflinching Scout Rifle Aim, Unflinching Sniper Aim, and Unflinching Power Aim. The second row of perks includes Auto Rifle Reserves and Sidearm Reserves. All the unflinching sounds cool but this exotic needs some Bungie love for it to be used more in rotation with the other exotics at the Warlock’s disposal. If you are a completionist then pick it up for your collection but as far as using it I suggest looking elsewhere for a more viable option.
This week’s exotic weapon is D.A.R.C.I., the exotic Sniper and the exotic perk is Personal Assistant while aiming down sights you will view its health and other critical information while zoomed in. This will also work with the other perk called Target Acquired where it will deal significantly more precision damage while Personal Assistant is active. This gun is a DPS machine when used it the proper situation. With the nerf to Whisper this sniper is at the top of its class as far as exotic sniper DPS is concerned. The best place to see this thing in all of its glory is in the final encounter of the scourge of the past raid with a well of radiance. Pick this gun up if you don’t have it already!
You can buy each of the exotic armors for 23 legendary shards a piece and D.A.R.C.I. for 29 legendary shards.
