Welcome to the fourth episode of the First-Person Perspective! In this on-going series, we will take a snapshot of what going on in the world of First-person games. This week we will look at Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, Doom 64, The Room VR: A Dark Matter.

 

Modern Warfare 2: Campaign Remastered

In a surprise move for many not following along with leaks and rumors Infinity Ward released a remaster of the classic Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. The remaster is for the single-player campaign only, but word is that they are planning on releasing MP maps into the current Modern Warfare title. It is currently available on the PS4 with the Xbox and PC being available on 4/30/20 as part of Sony’s exclusivity deal. They are also releasing a Classic Ghost Bundle that comes with a few goodies for Modern Warfare.

 

Doom 64

As a nice node to the history of Doom not only did the latest game in the franchise come out but they also released Doom 64 again for modern consoles. Originally released on the Nintendo 64 in 1997, and now available for the first time on Xbox One. Fight against demons in your crusade to hunt down the Mother of Demons and stop Hell’s invasion. For about $5 you can take on 30 action pack old school FPS levels of classic Doom gameplay.

 

The Room VR: A Dark Matter

Designed from the ground up for the unique capabilities of VR, players can inhabit the spine-tingling world of The Room and interact with its strange contraptions in this compelling new chapter. The game begins deep within The British Institute of Archaeology, where the disappearance of an esteemed Egyptologist prompts a Police investigation into the unknown. Explore cryptic locations, examine fantastic gadgets and discover an otherworldly element that blurs the line between reality and illusion. The room is available on Oculus, Steam VR, and PlayStation VR right now.
