Amazon released a small developer update for its upcoming title, New World, this morning, outlining some new content that has been added and most importantly announcing that they are pushing back the release date from Spring 2021 to August 31, 2021.
We’ve been hard at work on compelling end-game features we believe are important to include at launch. These features won’t be ready for the Spring timeframe that we had communicated. With that in mind, we will release New World on August 31, 2021. With this extra time we’ll be able to add these substantial improvements while polishing and fine tuning the whole game before we open Aeternum’s shores to the world.
The closed beta for those who have pre-ordered New World will begin on July 20th, 2021, giving players a chance to try out some of the new content, including
- Ebonscale Reach – a new end game zone
- Expeditions – instanced 5 player adventures
- Outpost Rush – 20 v 20 battles for control of strongholds and resources.
Are you looking forward to New World? I am excited to see what they bring to the table with this title and hope that the extra time allows them to add the polish necessary to put out a quality game.
