Netflix – A Time to Binge

Articles Muleflix

As we all endure the current global situation on our hands, there is no better time to binge on a good Netflix series. Join me as I take you through a few of my top picks.

There’s never been a better time to binge

Netflix has become a staple to many households over time and it’s now at a point where we see it churn out award-winning documentaries, TV series, and films time after time. One advantage Netflix holds is its ability to allow us to binge-watch – in a big way.

During these difficult times the world over, Netflix has never played such an important part in daily life as it does currently. Today I’m here to give you recommendations, not just any old recommendations but ones that will potentially have you binge-watching for hours.

So grab yourself a beverage, get comfortable, and let’s begin!

Tiger King

Every once in awhile Netflix will produce something that gets people talking, and when I say talking, I mean the Internet explodes. Right now you will not be hard-pressed to find a meme about Tiger King; it is literally everywhere and I can guarantee you probably already know who Carole Baskin is without even watching it.

A documentary set over 7 episodes (8 technically but one of those is an after-show), Tiger King will certainly grab your attention in an “I can’t believe what I am seeing, yet I can’t stop myself from watching” way.

Give it a watch, see what you think, but I can tell you this…you’re in for a wild ride.

Breaking Bad

You’re probably wondering why I’ve popped this one in. I’m aware that it isn’t new but bear with me on this one!

At its height of popularity, Breaking Bad had everyone hooked and rightly so. The characters are outstanding, the writing is second to none as is the way they managed to build upon the characters, seeing the journey they go on throughout the show is quite something and you become very invested in all of their outcomes.

62 episodes over 5 seasons – plenty of binge-worthy content.

The Umbrella Academy

There is currently only one season of The Umbrella Academy, however, I felt compelled to include it as there is another season on the way!

The Umbrella Academy is based on the comics and if you’re a superhero or comic fan then this may well be the one for you. It’s witty, it’s a little bit dark, and it features a fantastic cast. You will be left craving for the second season.

10 episodes over 1 season but another on the way.

The Office – British/American versions

I had to put both versions here as in my opinion they are both brilliant. We’ve all probably watched it so many times before but it’s one of those shows that you can watch over and never get bored.

Probably one of the most important reasons I put this on here is because it’s light-hearted and funny; that’s something we all need in the current times and it’s a welcome escape from the rather serious matters currently taking place in the world.

US version – A whopping 201 episodes over 9 seasons.

UK version – 12 episodes, 3 specials over 2 seasons.

Stay at home and binge-watch

In times like these, it’s so important that we stay at home, and having a program that you can indulge yourself in really helps with taking your mind off all the negative that might be surrounding you. Streaming services are playing their part in keeping us inside by providing top-quality shows and films.

Hopefully, my own picks gave you something to consider watching, of course, these are all my own choices and I’m sure you will have your own, I would love to hear what you are binge-watching currently. Feel free to reach out on the official MHG Discord or in the MHG forums.
