Articles Uncategorized

Welcome back MULEHORN GAMERS!!!! We continue our MHG Top Horror games countdown. Please check out the previous article for our 10-7 rankings. We have some good ones on our next run here, so let’s get started.

#6 Outlast

Outlast is a first-person survival horror video game developed and published by Red Barrels. The game revolves around a freelance investigative journalist, Miles Upshur, who decides to investigate a remote psychiatric hospital named Mount Massive Asylum, located deep in the mountains of Lake County, Colorado.

The creepy factor of Outlast is you can’t fight back the threats that are after you. Besides that you must use your camera as nigh vision to guide yourself through the hospital. Make sure you check out those batteries and not use them or else well the game is completely dark. Outlast is such a fun experience and a must play if you love horror video games. It also spawned a DLC and a sequel which we would recommend as well.

#5 Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2 builds upon cooperatively focused gameplay and Valve’s proprietary Source engine, the same game engine used in the original Left 4 Dead. Set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, Left 4 Dead 2 focuses on four new Survivors, fighting against hordes of zombies, known as the Infected, who develop severe psychosis and act extremely aggressive. The Survivors must fight their way through five campaigns, interspersed with safe houses that act as checkpoints, with the goal of escape at each campaign’s finale.

Like its predecessor, Left 4 Dead 2 is a first-person shooter with a heavy emphasis on cooperative gameplay. The game presents five new campaigns, each composed of three to five smaller levels.

Left 4 Dead 2 features a new cast of four human survivors: Coach , a stocky high school football coach with a bad knee; Nick ,a pessimistic gambler and con artist; Rochelle , a low-level production assistant for a local television station that was reporting on the pandemic; and Ellis, a friendly and talkative redneck mechanic who often talks about his friend Keith and their many misadventures.

Left 4 Dead 2 is a must play for zombies fans. We also recommend the first game however we like the added upgrades to Left 4 Dead 2. A wonderful DLC which brings both characters together is a lot of fun too. If you love zombie games Left 4 Dead series ranks as one of the best.

#4 Silent Hill 2

Silent Hill 2 is a 2001 survival horror video game published by Konami for the PlayStation 2 and developed by Team Silent, part of Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo. The second installment in the Silent Hill series, Silent Hill 2 centers on James Sunderland, a widower who journeys to the town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his dead wife informing him that she is waiting there for him.

Silent Hill 2 is one of the most scariest games I’ve ever played. Let’s not talk to much about one of the most iconic villains pyramid head. The combat is still a little off but with a story that has one of the most shocking reveals ever. Silent Hill 2 is another must play. Even though it hasn’t aged well I would recommend the PS2/Xbox versions of the game over the HD collection. Too many glitches, voice changes, suffer in the HD collection. We hope one day this series can return back to form. Until then add Silent Hill 2 to your collection of horror games to play.

There you have it. That’s out list from 4-6. What do you guys think? Next week we will have our 3-1 list. To stay updated please follow Mulehorn Gaming on all social. Be sure to check out our MHG Horror Games 1-7 list as well. Stay Spooky Friends!
