For someone who grew up in the Nintendo era of gaming, I have played my fair share of the Original Zelda. Even now I have a special place in my heart for games in that Action Adventure RPG genre. So I was super happy to find a game like Garden Story at PAX. A game that throws back to the way games were with a modern twist.
While walking through the PAX South show floor, I came across the Dot Dream Games booth where they were showcasing their game, Brave Eduardo. A 2D open-world game with 100% hand-drawn assets featuring beautiful environments, full day/night cycle, colorful teddy bear characters and massive creatures known as collosi.
At PAX South I came across a great looking indie game called Shot One, by Red Moon Workshop. A spiritual successor to Windjammers, Shot One is still in the early stages of development, but they are hoping to make waves in the eSports scene. I had the chance to check out E-Line Media’s upcoming sea exploration game, Beyond Blue. Beyond Blue is a game of sea exploration and discovery. The game takes place in the near future where players control Mirai, a deep-sea explorer, who has assembled a new research team to explore the ocean like never before.
