The next season for Star Wars Battlefront 2 was announced during the EA Play conference on June 9, 2018. Players will be able to enjoy content focused on the Clone Wars era.
Acknowledging the Past and Looking to the Future
One of the first things Dennis Brannvall, Design Director of Star Wars Battlefront 2, did when he came on stage during the EA Play conference was acknowledge the issues Star Wars Battlefront 2 had when it launched. If you don’t remember, there was some serious backlash towards the game at launch due to the progression system and loot boxes. EA DICE has had to focus more on those issues and less on new content, but they have improved the game since late last year. The biggest improvement came back in March 2018 when they overhauled the progression system. I really appreciated this openness to lead off the segment as well as his obvious excitement about the future of the game.
More Solo Content Coming
Next week, additional content revolving around Solo: A Star Wars Story will be coming to the game. The popular mode, Extraction will return to the game along with new maps on Kessel. EA also announced changes to the party system to help players group up easier. The party system is easily one of the most frustrating things in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (and the first one from 2015), so this will be a welcome addition. Two new Starfighter modes will also be added to the game. One will be in the vein of Heroes vs. Villians, while the other will focus around capturing command posts and fighting capital ships.
This should be a fun addition to the game and keep players engaged until the big content drop this summer.
Hello There… New Heroes and Game Modes Coming to Battlefront 2
After the current Solo season, EA announced we will be getting two new heroes, two new villains, and a new location. Fans will be excited to hear that Obi-wan Kenobi and General Grievous will be playable heroes. Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku will also be added to the game. EA announced that a new planet, Geonosis, will be added to the game. Not many details were given about new game modes, but EA Dice did say that there will be multiple levels, including the largest they have ever built for Battlefront.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
During the EA Play presentation, host Andrea Renee chatted with Respawn CEO Vince Zampella about their upcoming Star Wars game. During the interview he said that the game they are working on is called Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, and will focus on the “dark times” between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope (between Episodes 3 and 4). This game has a lot of potential and I am pretty excited about the time frame of the game.
