Classic Game Fest Returns to Austin July 27-28

Classic Game Fest returns once again to Austin, TX this weekend! If you’ve missed it before, now is your chance to check out the largest retro gaming convention in Texas!

If you’re in the Austin area, or even want to make a day trip of it, you won’t be disappointed. As far as conventions go, it’s very affordable – and kids under 12 get in free!

This year, expect to see over 100 vendors buying, selling, trading, and even repairing your retro gaming equipment or cartridges. Got an old Pokémon game cartridge that needs the battery replaced? Bring it!

You can also expect to find dozens of classic arcade machines and consoles for free play, along with tournaments to find the true champion of Smash Bros 64, Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mortal Kombat II, and more!

Plus, with live music, panels, and costume contests, there’s something for everyone here.

Be sure to check out the Classic Game Fest site for the full schedule, list of vendors, and to get tickets. See you there!

Josh (aka P53ud0Nym, aka jozNaz) got his start in gaming playing his uncle’s NES and his friend’s Sega Genesis. At the age of 14, he got a job, rode his bike to Kmart, and bought a Game Boy Color and Pokémon Blue. Josh enjoys RPGs, shooters, racing, and adventure games as well as teaching his two kids the ways of the Force.
