What’s the scoop?

Season 5 brings a lot of changes to the Battle Royale we all know and love. We got our first glimpse of LOBA in Season 4 with the introduction of Revenant. Now we are getting our hands on the new character! Take a look at her abilities.

Tactical – Burglar’s Best Friend

  • Teleport to hard-to-reach places or escape trouble quickly by throwing your Jump Drive bracelet.

Ultimate – Black Market Boutique

  • Place a portable device that allows you to teleport nearby loot to your inventory. Each friendly or enemy Legend can take up to two items.

Passive – Eye for Quality

  • Nearby epic and Legendary loot can be seen through walls.
  • The range is the same as Black Market Boutique.

Legendary Changes

Along with the introduction of LOBA, we are getting a ton of character changes. One of the biggest changes is some of the buffs and nerfs of fan favorites like Pathfinder and Octane.

Octane is getting a nice boost to his ultimate ability with its cooldown now set at 60 seconds instead of 90 seconds. Along with that is a big nerf to Pathfinder. The grappling hook’s cooldown has been increased to 35 seconds from 15 seconds. In my opinion that is a little too much of a nerf, but as Respawn states, it was supported with some of the data they gathered. You can read the full update on legends here.

New Map Is An Old Map?

Welcome back to Kings Canyon, or what is left with it. Skulltown and Thunderdome are no more as they have fallen off into the ocean.  Respawn is also making Kings Canyon the only available map for the first two weeks of this season’s launch. After that, the normal map rotation will start back up including the Season 4 map World’s Edge.

Big Change

A major change in this season is the introduction of charge towers.

Charge Towers are new devices unearthed in the excavation of Kings Canyon. Activate them to grant a full Ultimate charge to any Legends standing on the platform when the charge blast goes out.

There is a lot more to look forward to for this season including the new season tab, and if you want to check out the full update on EA’s own forum click here, and get ready to enjoy the new season!
