Rockstar Announces The Doomsday Heist – A New Heist for GTA Online

Today Rockstar announced that a new heist is coming to GTA Online on December 12, 2017. The new heist will be called the Doomsday Heist and looks to be very action-packed.

From the press release “A billionaire tech mogul, an idealistic intelligence agent, a socially awkward conspiracy theorist and a neurotic supercomputer have been forced into an unlikely alliance to save San Andreas from total annihilation.” This seems like a great set up for the first new heist in GTA Online since they were first released in April 2015.  Heists are multi-part, cooperative missions in GTA Online. Players have to set up for the heists then assume specific roles on the four-person team to pull off the heist.

Online heists were one of the main selling points of GTA Online when it launched in the fall of 2013, but it took Rockstar a lot longer than they had anticipated getting them working correctly. The Doomsday Heist looks to be the next evolution of the original heists and could potentially be the last heist we see in GTA Online. From the trailer, it appears that we will be going all over Los Santos and Blaine County. We get to see things like submarine-cars, flying cars, jetpacks, new tanks, new airplanes and more. Players will also finally see what is inside the mysterious Mount Chiliad.

I know I am excited to check out this new heist. The original heists (both in the single-player game and GTA Online) are some of the most fun GTA experiences I have ever had. What do you think? Sound off in the comments.
