Nintendo Highlights Big Games for Switch and 3DS 2017 and for the Future
On Facebook a couple weeks ago, Nintendo released an image of the big game releases coming Summer 2017 and beyond. In the image all of the Switch’s releases are on the left, and the 3DS titles to the right. Here’s a look at the upcoming releases to look forward to from Nintendo:
Second Breathe of the Wild DLC Still Missing Release Date
The four champions amiibo are slated for release on November 10th, but surprisingly no date has been announced for the second Breathe of the Wild DLC “The Champions’ Ballad”. During an interview with Nintendo of America President and COO, Reggie Fils-Aime stated that Nintendo was planning on making an announcement soon. Fils-Aime also stated that players shouldn’t hold out on the November 10th release date of the amiibo to be a soft place holder for the release of the DLC.
Shin Megami Tensei 5 Officially Announced for Nintendo Switch
Back in E3 2017, Nintendo showed a teaser of what appeared to be the next Shin Megami game. It has now been officially titled as Shin Megami Tensei 5, and has been announced exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The previous game in the series was a Nintendo 3DS-Exclusive, but it looks like SMT 5 wont be making it’s way to the portable system. Check out the official announcement trailer below:
Sonic Forces Demo Available on the Nintendo Switch, Kind of
This past week it was discovered that a Sonic Forces Demo was available on the Nintendo Switch, but only the Japanese eShop. Fortunately there is an easy work around if you are looking to try the game out before it launches on November 7th. All you need to do is create a Nintendo account and set Japan as your region, then link it to your system and you’re good to go. The one down side to the demo is that it features three stages from the game, but only allows a 1 minute demo of each. That’s not really enough time to try the game out, kind of defeating the purpose of the demo.
Nintendo Announces Next Mobile Game
During Nintendo’s latest Nintendo Direct last week, they announced their next big mobile game. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is set to be released on both iOS and Android late November 2017. From the looks of the features shown on during the Direct and the trailer, it appears that Pocket Camp is basically a fleshed out Animal crossing game on mobile devices. Check out the trailer below:
Super Mario Odyssey is Here
Super Mario Odyssey launched just a few days ago and has already been doing extremely well with reviews. Garnering top marks across the board it looks like Nintendo is competing with itself for the top spot with the Top 5 Games of the Year according to Metacritic being:
1: Super Mario Odyssey (Switch) with a 97
2: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch) with a 97
3: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (WiiU) with a 96
4: Divinity: Original Sin 2 (PC) with a 93
5: Persona 5 (PS4) with a 93
Nintendo also held a huge launch event in New York City for the launch of Odyssey where they held a concert at the Rockefeller Plaza featuring an elaborate dance number to the games theme song “Jump Up, Super Star!”. Check out the Live action trailer of the song below:
