Xur is back this week, and as always we’ve got the low down on Xur’s Inventory for the week of 9-29-17. Xur can be found on Io at the Grave’s Scar.
Weapon Type: Submachine Gun
Exotic Perk: Arc Conductor – When Taking Arc Damage, this weapon becomes more powerful and resists incoming Arc Damage. Kills extend the time in this overcharged State.
Pros: Gun feels like a mini Zhalo Supercell from Destiny 1 with Arc Conductor and Superconductor perks. Great for clearing red bar mobs, especially fallen and thrall enemies.
Cons: Lacks a lot of single target damage for majors and bosses. Only works well if enemies are clumped together.
Recommended: If the player likes playing the supportive role of taking out mobs while others bring down the boss, this might be the weapon for you. Otherwise, it’s not super impressive, but a fun gun regardless.
Name: Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves – Gauntlets
Equipped Armor Mod: Acceleration Mod
Exotic Perk: Spring-Loaded Mounting – Increases Sidearm ready and reload speed.
Pros: Increased Sidearm readiness and reload means that you can switch to your Sidearm of choice faster and have less of a chance of being caught with an empty clip.
Cons: If you don’t have any Sidearms you like or if you don’t use Sidearms at all, the exotic perk is wasted.
Recommended: If you’re a Hunter that really likes to use Sidearms, this Exotic might be for you. Other than that it’s debatable, since not using Sidearms makes the Exotic perk moot.
Name: Hallowfire Heart – Chest Piece
Equipped Armor Mod: Solar Impact Mod
Exotic Perk: Sunfire Furnace – Greatly improves the recharge rate of your Solar abilities while Hammer of Sol is charged.
Pros: Cuts the recharge on your Sunbreaker abilities by about a third while your super is fully charged.
Cons: You have to hold onto your super to really benefit from the exotic perk. An unmodded recharge is still about 25 seconds or so. Does not affect your Titan Wall class ability.
Recommended: Highly recommended for PvE content. Since players are more likely to save their super for bosses in Strikes/Nightfall/Raid situations, you get more bang for your buck. Not recommended in PvP since you usually only get one super per match.
Name: Transversive Steps – Boots
Equipped Armor Mod: Self-Repairing Mod
Exotic Perk: Strange Protractor – While sprinting, movement speed is increased and energy weapons are automatically reloaded.
Pros: Slightly faster sprint speed and you don’t have to reload your energy weapon, if you are sprinting.
Cons: You have to be sprinting to reload you energy weapon, sprinting and then jumping doesn’t count. Only slightly increases your sprint speed.
Recommended: Not recommended at all. The speed boost is mediocre at best, and it’s just faster to reload manually rather then getting the perk to proc.
