Darksiders 3 Annoucement

Fans of THQNordic rejoice! There’s another installment in the Darksiders series! Read on for our first look at Fury, Rider of the Black Horse.

Previously, we have seen two games that focus on the four horseman of the apocalypse. The first game in the series was centered around the rider of the red horse, War. We find out he was tricked into putting into motion the events of the end of the world and sets out to clear his name.

During the second game, we see the world from the point of view of War’s brother, Death. He finds out about his brother’s predicament and also sets out to see his brother cleared of these heinous charges.

For this game, we see a new horseman come into play, or rather a horsewoman. That’s right, this will be the series’ first female protagonist. Sadly, we don’t know much about her other than she’s a fellow horseman… And wields a whip. Our first glimpse of her is during the reveal trailer where we find her greeting her chained up brother, War, and approaching the Charred Council to accept the task of hunting down the Seven Deadly Sins.

We also get to see her in action a little bit as a new gameplay video has come out recently

Our Take of Darksiders III

I’ve enjoyed the Darksiders series and their mix of Zelda-like mechanics and God of War combat. My only questions about the third game are: When does this take place, exactly? Darksiders 2 is set during the events of the first game, and during the reveal trailer we see War chained up. Is Fury set out before War has his judgment passed down? Will she be operating during his timeline as well?

Also, who is Fury? We’re told she’s a horseman of the apocalypse, but Fury actually isn’t… She addressed by the council as the rider of the black horse, which is actually Famine. Was Famine replaced by Fury to seem more cool or more approachable by the developers? Will her horse be aptly named for Famine as we’ve seen with War and his horse, Ruin, or Death and his mount, Despair?

Regardless, news of this game has gotten me looking forward to more information coming to light and its release sometime next year.
