Rooster Teeth: Not Just Red vs Blue
When you think Rooster Teeth, the first thing that comes to mind is typically Red vs Blue. The lineage of Rooster Teeth is a healthy one, so much so that a gaming division has been added. I had the opportunity to catch up with Mike Hardwin, Director of Rooster Teeth Gaming, and learned a bit about its inception. We also dove into their latest project titled “Battlesloths 2025: The Great Pizza Wars” with Creative Director Phil Johnson of Invisible Collective.
Sloths or Turtles, It’s all Pizza!
Battlesloths is a fast-paced, multiplayer twin-stick shooter. The game allows for local co-op competition with with up to 4 players. Using a multitude of weaponry to destroy your enemies, ranging from crossbows to rocket launchers, the goal is to destroy your enemy. You will grab their slice of pizza and bring it back to your corner of the base. I had a chance to play with Phil in a 1 vs 1 match and was having a blast. However, when he brought in two others and it was four-player local co-op and every person for themselves, that is when the game kicked into high gear.
The game is still being worked on and is set to release on Steam without a definitive date yet. However, it is shaping up to be a fast-paced game in the pickup and play type style of the 90’s.
